This one-day course has been designed for nurses, residents, and nurse midwives who are new to fetal
monitoring or who would like a review course in preparation for the fetal monitoring certification examination.
The course content includes maternal/fetal physiology, electronic fetal heart rate monitor instrumentation,
NICHD terminology (1997 and 2008), antepartum and intrapartum pattern assessment and management, and
case study presentations. Combined with EFM 102 - Advanced EFM (Part 2) clinicians will have complete and
up to date information in fetal monitoring.
